The Jail Ministry serves both the English and Spanish-speaking populations housed within the Calhoun County Jail. Our goal is to assist our incarcerated sisters and brothers by focusing on the goodness of God and His healing peace which comes through prayer. Communion Services are provided Sunday afternoons within the jail pods, requiring 6 - 8 volunteers. We also provide Catholic Catechesis and Bible Study on Wednesday evenings and need volunteers for this ministry. As with all meaningful ministries, we often return feeling we have received more than we gave. Prayer support is also needed and welcomed.
We also accept donations for the jail in the form of Catholic Bibles (NABRE, RSV, NRSVCE, CEV), past issues of Magnificat, and spiritual or theological books. Please drop off any donations at the office.
Contact Deacon Tony Wojcik at (586)-863-2511 or Jennifer Tennant at (269)788-3614 if you would like to volunteer or have any questions.
